folks

folks
This is an informal, even archaic, term for "people," "folk," "relatives," or "race." "Just folks" and "plain folks" are trite phrases implying simplicity and unpretentiousness. Folksy is an informal term for "sociable" or "genial": "The President is a sociable (genial, companionable, friendly) man." If he is so folksy as to be "of the folk," he may not deserve to be President.
